Viticulture

Vineyard: South- facing slopes by the Umia River in the counties of Meaño, Cambados, Meis and Portas.
Soil Type: Sandy soils
Vine Age: Between 17 & 67 years old.
Irrigation: No irrigation
Harvest Date: 3rd and 4th week of September
Yield: 6 to 7 kg per vine

Vinification:

The grapes are selected from the Salnés area. Picked by hand and transported into 15Kg boxes. Each plot is vinified separately to capture the individual expression from each vineyards.
Namorío integrates traditional and innovative techniques in an effort to preserve the typical characteristics of the grapes.

Cold maceration, fermentation in controlled temperature stainless steel tanks.
Aged in stainless steel tanks with natural deposits, aged for another month in the bottle minimum before release.
Pablo Ibañez has been head wine maker at Valdamor since the winery was founded in 1990 and Manuel Paz is his assistant.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Pale yellow with hints of gold.
Nose: Fresh, elegant aromas with white flowers and dried fruits.
Palate: Well balanced and fleshy. Flowery and fresh, with delightful hints of peach.
Other: This Albariño is ideal with fresh shell fish such as clams, oysters, mussels, crab or lobster.
