2011 Grüner Veltliner


Vineyard: This wine is made from a selection of vineyards within Lower Austria; Kremstal, Rohrendorf, on the East side of the Danube.
Soil Type: Sandy Loam with a lot of gravels.
Vine Age:
Irrigation: No irrigation
Harvest Date: End of September, beautiful weather conditions.
Yield: 55 hl/ha


The grapes were hand picked at optimum ripeness at the end of September. The grapes come from several vineyards and selected in the cellar.
The bunches are pressed whole, the juice is then fermented slowly in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.
The wine is bottled young in order to preserve the natural fruity flavors and the freshness from the grapes.
Bottled on the 1st of March 2012.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Bright, almost translucent.
Nose: Fruity with pretty floral notes and hints of herbal scents.
Palate: Crisp acidity, rich fruits, citrus and gooseberry, with the typical Grüner Veltliner spiciness.
Other: This wine is perfect on a warm summer day with a salad or charcuterie. Also great on its own as an aperitif, very refreshing and lively.
