The Zweigelt grape varietal was created by Dr. Fritz Zweigelt in 1922 and is a cross between St. Laurent and Blaufrankish. It is the most planted red variety in Austria covering 14% of the total vineyards' surface.
This Zweigelt comes from a number of vineyards located on the Neubruch plateau overlooking the village of Rohrendorf.
Bunches are pressed whole, the must is then fermented in temperature controlled in stainless steel tanks.
Bottled on the 6th of August 2010.
||Light red with hints of blue on the rim.
||Ripe cherry and clove.
||Richly fruity and round with well integrated tannins. It is pleasant and drinks easily.
||Pairs well with meaty dishes as well as cured meats.
