Vineyard: A selection of vineyards from Valtuille de Abajo.
Soil Type: Mostly clay soils, sandy and pebbles too.
Vine Age: 70 to over 80 years old.
Irrigation: No irrigation
Harvest Date:
Yield: 4 t/ha.


The grapes were hand picked, extended maceration and fermented in 500 liters French oak barrels. Half of the production is fermented with the full cluster in oak barrels. Aged for just over a year in French oak barrels.
Production 20 000 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Intense purple.
Nose: Balsamic and vegetal aromas.
Palate: It is balanced and complex with soft and well integrated tannins. Well balanced and elegant.
Other: This Mencía goes very well with coq au vin, in place of a Pinot Noir, it is also a winner with any game dishes.
