Soil Type: Sand, Arcillosos and stones.
Vine Age: Over 100 years old.

Harvest Date: 3rd week of September.
Yield: 2 to 3 t/ha.


Cepas Centenerias comes from a pre-phylloxera vineyard, with sandy soil. The local grape Mencia is used to make this wine, to which 5% Bastardo and 2% others local grapes were also added as a finishing touch.
The grapes were hand picked and fermented in French oak barrels before aging for 16 months in French barrels.
No cold stabilization or filtration.
The total production of this wine is 3 500 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Bright purple.
Nose: It is fragrant with red and other dark berries, some Asian spices and a floral bouquet.
Palate: It is intense, with a rich combination of delicate fruity flavors; raspberry and blueberry together with a hint of sweetness & spices in the background. A lingering finish showing an exceptional soft silkiness and elegance along with balancing minerality.
Other: Cepas Centenerias may be aged with confidence for many more years, a beautiful example of elegance and balance that is an experience in itself.
This is a food wine and will pair well with game or rich winter dishes. Can be served slightly chilled.
