Soil Type: Sandy soils.
Vine Age: Pre-phyloxera.

Harvest Date: from the 1st week of Spetember to teh 1st week of October, depending on the vineyards.
Yield: 3.5 t/ha

Vinification:

This wine comes from 5 different vineyards situated in Valtuille de Abajo. The vineyards are planted on the only sandy soils found in Bierzo and the vines come from before the phyloxera time, its second name is Cepas Centanarias.
The grapes are handpicked and sorted in the vineyard. The wine is macerated and fermented in 6000 liters wooden barrels and aged for a year in 228 liters Burgundy oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Cherry red with violet hues.
Nose: Complex, shows a lot of minerality, with characters of slate, ripe cassis, good wood integration with a lot of spices and subtle at once.
Palate: A good grip, fruity with rich cassis flavors, with a touch of fresh herbs, more spices, on the finish it is complete, elegant and balance.
Other: This wine may be aged where it will develop more delicacy and a velvety texture.
