Vineyard: A selection of vineyards from Valtuille de Abajo.
Soil Type: Pebbles with sand.
Vine Age: 70 to 80 years old.

Harvest Date: September through to October.
Yield: 4 t/ha

Vinification:

The grapes were hand picked, fermented partly in French oak barrels before aging for just over a year in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Vivid Ruby.
Nose: Ripe cherry and red plum, with oak spice and a touch of cardamon.
Palate: Rich subtle and juicy, offering dark berry flavors with a hint of cracked pepper. Deep and concentrated with a long and soft finish.
Other: El Castro de Valtuille is a refined wine that is fairly versatile, may be paired with coq au vin, in place of a Pinot Noir also with game meat dishes.
