This is 100% Carignan, it is the first Manyetes made from Carignan only grapes.
The Manyetes vineyard covers 10 ha and is situated in the most arid and poor soil in Gratallops. Manyetes is an exciting, passionate challenge with nature, the difficult and unique terroir impairs the pure Priorat essences. The vines grow in extreme conditions with very poor soils, hot summer days, cold nights and cold winters.
The Carignan forms the powerful backbone of the wine and the Grenache adds some femininity to this graceful wine.
The result is a delicate and sophisticated blend from a rather unique and harsh environment.
Manyetes is the authentic Priorat terroir turned into wine.
The grapes were harvested in September, pressed very gently using an olive press and fermented with its own indigenous yeast.
Aged in 50% 1st fill and 50% 2nd fill oak barrels from the best European sources over 18 months.
Total production 7000 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Deep garnet with some hints of violet on the rim.
Nose: Dark fruits and spices.
Palate: It is concentrated and fresh at the same time. Fine structure with great length and bright fruits. Silky tannins, easy to appreciate from a young age, its length, minerality and structure promise a very good aging potential.
Other: This is a great food pairing wine, it will especially go well with roast rack of lamb, Oxtail or Beaufort cheese.
