Viticulture

Vineyard: Carignan against steep mountain slope, the Merlot and Syrah were planted on terraces.
Soil Type: Licorella.
Vine Age: Carignan 70 years old, the Merlot & Syrah were planted in 1995
Irrigation: No irrigation
Harvest Date: October 2005
Yield: 1.5 t/ha

Vinification:

This is a 40% Carinyena, 30% Merlot and 30% Syrah blend. Aged for 16 months in lightly toasted Alliers barrels.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Deep cherry red, clean, with some blue tones highlighting its youth.
Nose: Intense aromas, showing complexity, with abundance of mixed berries such as cherry and blackberry with a balsamic freshness and some flowery notes toped with notes of rosemary adding some aromatic character.
Palate: The first approach is soft, and grows in the mouth, pleasant mature tannins, silky and velvety. Round and mineral surprisingly ready for consumption.
Other: This is very delicate wine that will be enjoyed with any rich meaty dish without overpowering. This wine will improve with some aging, 8 to 10 years.
