Soil Type: Klapmuts, Wasbank, Cartref
Vine Age: 8 years old.
Irrigation: No irrigation
Harvest Date: March 2007.
Yield: 8.5 t/ha

Vinification:

After an early morning harvest the cool grapes are brought into the cellar and then undergo skin contact & cold maceration, for 3 to 4 days to extract soft tannins and ripe fruity flavors before
allowing fermentation to begin. Throughout vinification
handling was kept to a minimum to preserve the fruit essence.
Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels

Tasting Notes:

Color: Ruby red.
Nose: Intense fruity aromas with some cinnamon.
Palate: Fresh, with red cherry, black current mixed with some spices and white pepper.
Other: This wine will pair well with duck, stews, BBQ or even oxtail.
