Viticulture

Vineyard: 3 333 Vines per hectare.
Soil Type: Estcourt, Klapmuts Cartref.
Vine Age: 13 years old.

Vinification:

Harvested at 25 balling, handpicked and delicately crushed. Cold soaked through the night. Fermentation was started the next morning, pump overs every 4 hours. Lightly pressed and matured in french oak barrels for 15 months.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Dark purple.
Nose: Dark fruits with hints of violet.
Palate: The Cabernet Franc shows good tannins combined with the softer and juicier Merlot. Plum, blackberry, cassis and spice dominate. It is soft and round.
Other: Pairs well with tomato sauce based pastas, grilled red meat or rich winter stews.
